Charleston, SC, August 16, 2007 –
Signet consultants participated in the two-day conference and workshops
along with business
leaders, legal practitioners, human resource professionals, and academics
throughout the Palmetto State where they discussed ways in which we can
become more effective diversity leaders. Drawing upon the expertise of
leading diversity consultants and trainers, conference attendees had the
opportunity to merge theory with practice in order to create a competitive
advantage.

Modern-day
South Carolina continues its transformation with a rapidly growing
Hispanic population, an increasing disparity between socio-economic
classes, and the influx of Northerners relocating to the South. These
demographic and class shifts illustrate that diversity has moved beyond
race and gender. As we continue to diversify, our strategies and
approaches of how we work with difference must also adapt and change.
The
two-day conference brought together
Keynote
speaker was Juan Johnson, President of Juan Johnson Consulting and
Facilitation and Founder, Diversity Leadership Academy. Closing
speaker was Mauricio Velazquez, President Diversity Training Group.
Entertainment was provided by Marlena Smalls, Actress/Vocalist, Founder,
Gullah Festival.
